I finally decided that this was the year I was going to get into shape. Now that I am in my late 40's, my body is getting flabby and I just don't feel as energetic as I used to.
I decided I was going to start a power walking and jogging workout because it is something I can do outside and I won't need to spend any money for a gym membership. I did decide to invest in some gear, and a fitness tracker and heart rate monitor were the first things on my list.
I love my heart rate monitor because I always know how hard I am working out. I don't want to have a heart attack as I am out jogging around the lake. My monitor straps to my chest and it keeps me right at my perfect heart rate. If I am not working hard enough it tells me, and if I am working too hard it lets me know so I can slow down. I feel more confident when I work out and once I get to my target heart rate I find I can work out for longer. More tips can be found on this site:
